Powerskating (Hockey and Ringette Players)
This program is led by WFSC coaches, and focuses on specific skating skills for hockey and ringette players. Professional Skate Canada coaches offer lessons that emphasize balance, power, agility, speed, and endurance.
Skills, techniques and conditioning drills are taught in a progressive format that emphasizes how the skills apply to game situations. It's an alternative to figure skating, and an excellent complement for those playing hockey or ringette.
Hockey and ringette players between the ages of 5-12 are welcome. Full hockey equipment is mandatory, sticks are allowed and suggested. Skaters should be already skating independently – in a forward direction and attempting backwards and stopping.
Powerskating schedule can be found under the WFSC registration page.
